REDUCING ENERGY CONSUMPTION
Midstream liquid pipeline companies are an integral part of the supply chain, responsible for moving oil and natural gas from the wellhead through the transportation infrastructure necessary to get fuels and feedstocks to market. This program was developed to help participating companies implement best practices that reduce energy consumption.
Participating companies implement one or more of the following methods to reduce energy consumption:
- Use of Drag Reduction Agents,
- Use and installation of variable frequency drives,
- Minimization of pump recycle (unit check valve bypass),
- Generators and equipment efficiencies practices,
- Use of renewables for stationary equipment and power generation
