The U.S. oil and natural gas industry is committed to the protection of human health, safety, and the environment. Our performance programs target high emitting sources of methane within operations, which members have identified from EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program data as well as through member operational knowledge. Performance programs are designed to provide an operating pathway to participants to support their compliance obligations and then take additional steps to accelerate their environmental improvement progress.
As The Partnership’s collective knowledge expands, its performance programs also evolve and advance, using innovations, science, and data to identify new initiatives to help the industry further reduce its environmental footprint, while safely and responsibly growing energy production. There are currently six environmental performance programs that oil and natural gas companies can implement within their operation.
