Learning

Sharing best practices and solutions among peers is the cornerstone of The Partnership. Participants in The Environmental Partnership are committed to continuously learning about the latest industry innovations and best practices that can further reduce their own environmental footprint while safely and responsibly growing energy production.

Reducing methane emissions is a complex puzzle with many pieces, and each puzzle is unique to an individual operator’s makeup. There is not “a one size fits all” solution. Companies implement different methane mitigation approaches and strategies based on basin and regional characteristics, types of assets, company size, and the company’s individual emissions reduction goals. TEP helps participating companies navigate the wide range of solutions, make informed decisions on what work best for their operations, and successfully assemble their unique methane reduction puzzle.

The Partnership was formed in 2017 to provide a space for operators to learn from one another about methane reduction solutions and strategies and to leverage that collective knowledge to improve the industry’s environmental performance. Much of this sharing is focused on the forefront of learnings – sharing emerging practices, not only the more mature practices.

Through workshops, virtual networks and targeted projects, TEP drives positive change and industry improvement by providing members an opportunity to convene, learn, and share valuable information about new strategies and emerging technologies to reduce emissions. Many of the unique challenges that individual operators face are, in fact, solvable when tackled together through open dialogue with industry peers and other experts.

Operator Workshops

TEP hosts in-person, regional and topic-focused operator workshops throughout the year. These workshops bring together large and small companies and provide an opportunity to share information and discuss best practices.

Virtual Networks

TEP Networks serve as virtual forums for participating company experts to convene, learn, and share valuable information about new strategies and emerging technologies on specific focus areas. TEP currently has three methane-focused networks on measurement and monitoring strategies, operational practices, facility and equipment design solutions and one conservation-focused network.

Participant Resources

TEP has an online resources repository for participants to ensure broad availability of information and shared learning experiences generated through the program. The repository includes existing information and presentations contributed at TEP workshops, annual meetings and other sharing forums, sorted by emission sources and types of measurement technologies. This online resource ensures that companies, no matter when they join TEP, have the practices and information to accomplish accelerated emissions reductions in their operation.
