Pipeline Blowndown Program to Achieve Emission Reductions
Background
The Environmental Partnership is continuing to broaden the scope of its emission reduction capabilities across the supply chain with this program focused on best practices and techniques during the pipeline blowdown process along pipelines between compressor stations.
Program Application
Program applies to pipelines between compressor stations used at gathering and boosting, transmission and storage facilities.
Program Specifics
Participating companies will implement various emission reduction and minimization practices during pipeline blowdowns, such as routing gas to a compressor or capture system for beneficial use, routing gas to low-pressure system, reducing pipeline pressure to the extent possible before blowdown, utilizing hot tapping, or other technologies or practices to reduce emissions.
Program Reporting and Content
The Environmental Partnership will report actions taken on an annual basis.
